The deploy platform our own products run on
We built a platform-as-a-service, then moved our own products onto it, which means every operational failure hits us before it hits a customer.
Situation
Running a portfolio of small products on managed hosting is fine until the bills, the build minutes, and the per-platform quirks stop being fine. We wanted one deployment standard we controlled.
Constraint
A platform nobody uses proves nothing. It had to host real traffic on real domains with real TLS, or it was a demo.
What we built
Fieldwick: a build and run platform on a dedicated compute fleet, with an edge layer handling routing and certificates, scheduled workloads, billing, and an application host that serves customer apps on their own hostnames.
One of our consumer products serves from it today. The platform's own marketing surface, API, and app host run as first-class tenants of the same system.
Outcome
Fieldwick is live at fieldwick.com. The strongest thing we can say about it is not a benchmark: it is that our own products depend on it, so its failure modes are our problem first.
